What’s Right in the School District of Janesville – Take Three!

What’s Right in the School District of Janesville (SDJ) is a forum to recognize outstanding performances and achievements by SDJ employees, students and schools.  The most important factor in a student’s educational success is the quality of the teacher in the classroom.  Today’s blog is dedicated to some of the incredible teachers in our high schools and charter schools!
Rock River Charter School Recognizes Dean of Students for Outstanding Effort
Rock River Charter School would like to recognize Coleen Shaw who serves as the Dean of Students.  She is always concerned in perusing the best outcome for students.  She is very interested with increasing academic rigor through embracing the Curriculum-Based Assessment process and following the same curriculum as the main stream high schools.  She continually provides high quality service to students, families, and staff.
US News Ranks Janesville Parker as One of Wisconsin’s Best High Schools
U.S. News & World Report has released its most recent list of High School Rankings.  Janesville Parker High School is ranked 19 in the state of Wisconsin out of 991 high schools, placing Parker in the top two percent in the state.  U.S. News awarded more than 4,850 gold, silver, and bronze medals to the top-performing schools in the nation.  Janesville Parker High School is ranked 1,891 out of 21,776 high schools nation-wide placing the school in the top nine percent in the country!

TAGOS Leadership Academy Celebrates with Parents
TAGOS Leadership Academy had their final Family Luncheon for the year on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.  TAGOS holds 2-3 of these potluck events each year and they are always a big hit.  They are so popular that alumni even come back to visit.  It is also a great way for parents and staff to get together and communicate about the events at TAGOS and to celebrate their child’s accomplishments.  Students love showing off their projects and of course they are always willing to eat delicious food!


Janesville Craig High School Creates Lib Dub Video
The Craig Link Crew created a Lib Dub video showcasing Craig High School and all of the activities that are available. Thank you to Shawn Kane, Jon Maglio, Shelly Learned and Nikki Shucka for the awesome job they did working with over 400 students who debut in the CHS first ever Lip Dub.
