What's Right in the School District of Janesville

Adams Elementary School
"Hopes and Dreams"

All Adams School staff and students are completing “Hopes and Dreams” for the ’13-’14 school year. The staff sheets are in a binder in our lounge to be shared with everyone. The student “Hopes and Dreams” will be kept in the classroom and a copy in the office. The office copies will be available for all staff to view to build better relationships with students.

Madison Elementary School
"Cram the Van"

Thank you to Blackhawk Credit Union (Westside) and Gordie Boucher  for once again selecting Madison Elementary School for their Cram The Van Collection and donating school supplies for our students in need.  On August 30th, they delivered several tubs of school supplies for students who could not afford them and $100 in gas cards and bus tokens.  This helped our students be able to begin the year ready to learn.  We will continue to give out these supplies throughout the year.

Van Buren Elementary School
 "Reading with Rosie"

Mrs. Givens, Van Buren Elementary ELL teacher, received a Donors Choose grant for $500 to assist with her “Reading with Rosie” program.  Shelly started the "Reading with Rosie" program two years ago to encourage students to read more. The objective was to develop their comfort level in reading thus becoming more fluent readers, especially for English Language Learners and students with special needs.  Shelly will be purchasing more books for the program
