Rock The School House

They are best known by their day jobs – educating students in the School District of Janesville (SDJ). In addition to the rigors these educators encounter daily, a group of nine musicians is adding to their busy schedules by rehearsing for an upcoming school district fundraiser.

The SDJ will present “Rock the School House” on Saturday, Jan.18 at the Janesville Performing Arts Center. It’s a fundraiser for several district organizations including Washington Seminar, Global Youth Summit, Junior Achievement, Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Bridges International Conference, Wisconsin Honors Project, Badger Boys/Girls State and others.

For a $15 ticket ($10 for students) you can enjoy the musical talents of educators working throughout the district. Here’s a list of performers and their schools:

Evan Riley Band – Jefferson and Kennedy

Brian and Jan Knutson – Washington, Jackson and Parker

The Bill Conway Family Band – Parker

Seth Matuszak – Edison, Franklin, Adams and Madison

Steve Pease and Swing Fish – Edison

Trygve Danielson – Parker (retired)

Kyle Elsbernd – Craig

Chris Kohn and The Two Ton Heavy Thing – Harrison

Parker grad and Janesville City Councilman Sam Liebert will share his experiences as a SDJ student who benefited and was inspired by one the school programs benefiting from the Rock the School House concert - Washington Seminar.

Proceeds from the show will help defray student and employee costs and make great leaning experiences available to more of our students. You can provide additional support by signing on as a sponsor of the event.
